  1. Very nice. There's definitely a mood here, but exactly what that mood is, is open to interpretation. Look at it one way, and it's beautiful and peaceful. Look at it another way, and it's mysterious and even a bit foreboding. Even though it's a quiet scene, it still manages to evoke the feeling of exploration: You don't know quite what's up ahead. The atmosphere is just great.

I may be reading too much into it, but I like that the big tree in the mid-ground is casting dark shadows, but the misty area in the background is more lit-up. It seems to symbolize how a journey may take you through darkness but still come out okay in the end.

    1. In any case, that's a nice interpretation. I do love painting forests, and travelling is a large part of roleplay adventuring. Aventuria or the Dark Eye is a classical fantasy setting with a medieval touch and plenty of forests in varying degrees of dangerous; the Salamander Stones are inhabited by the Wood Elves who don't like outsiders, and the Stone Oak Forest is brimming with fairies, some good, some bad. Did you spot the Schrat?

    2. Not until you mentioned it! It's well-hidden. Sneaky little thing. I mistook it for part of a tree trunk the first time around.

I love details like that, that become apparent on repeat viewings.
