A new painting done with traditional media. End of the Line is A3, acrylics on paper with cotton thread (the leftovers of which of course became a cat toy).
[english - deutsch unten] Fallout Enclave X-01 Power Armor Re-design. Done for a client who was aiming for a series over time, showing a progression of engineers from the D.C. Wasteland on a more mecha-styled side. I had no idea about that from the job offer, and it was quite the challenge, since mecha isn't exactly my forte ;) But I learned a bit, and appreaciate the Power Armor even more. The first image I created for Sons of the Singularity, a publisher of roleplaying games largely with Cthulhu and Lovecraftian content, and published with the gumshoe system for detective games, was actually in 2018. Since then I have steadily worked with them on several books on extraordinary images with art deco style or strongly limited palettes, even was tasked with a cover once.
I've recently discovered the sketching software Al.chemy for myself. Sometimes I paint on the base of a collage of plenty of gradients, structures, and textures, then draw a sketch on top and develop a painting from it, but Al.chemy can do all that in a much more random way, plus nice recording functions. Here are some of the sketches I created with Al.chemy; the cityscape has had a little touch-up in Photoshop. Al.chemy is an open source software and it's free to use.
